What is BPC-157
Originally developed to help with gastric ulcers, this protein was derived from human gastric juices itself. There are a few effects it is being touted for now:
- increasing healing of intestinal resectioning
- helping with inflammatory bowel disease
- reattaching tendons to muscle and bone
- fast recovery from muscle tears
- increased ligament healing
- protection effects in some organs
Many athletes are turning to this to help recover from gym injuries in shorter amounts of time.
It has been tested in rats to show that the tendon actually gets reattached to the bone. Studies with rats have shown to heal torn quadriceps, muscles, Achilles tendon (which have been damaged and crushed.
How BPC-157 Works
The main characteristics of healing are granulation tissue, angiogenesis and production of collagen. BPC-157 facilitates angiogenesis (vessel formation).
BPC-157 acts by modulating Vaso Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), which helps grow blood vessels. The healing literally happens through blood flow.
Typically Blood supply to an ulcer and a tendon is low, so ulcers don’t heal and neither do tendons.
Note:
BPC-157 is a research chemical still, and as such it is not legal for human use or to sell. More research needs to be conducted before this is approved for use.
